Turtle Snorkel Adventure
Overview
TURTLE SNORKEL ADVENTURE
Duration: 2.5 hrs
Time: 9am M-F
Location: Summertime on Kauai, roughly from April-October, means calm ocean conditions on the stunning North Shore. During this time, our tours depart from either the shore at Koloa Landing or at Anini Beach, depending on weather conditions. At Anini Beach, we explore one of the largest fringe-reef systems in the state. This spot is a 'nursery' reef which means we see an abundance of baby fish, beautiful coral as well as feeding sea turtles.
During the winter months on Kauai, roughly from October-April, we call Koloa Landing home to our snorkel tours. Nestled on the sunny south side of the Island, Koloa landing offers snorkelers vast opportunities to see an abundance of sea life with the comfort of a protected cove.
This special tour includes Reef Guide's famous education program with interpretive stories about this amazing animal's long journey through life, from hatching out of its egg to returning to its native beach to reproduce. You will also learn about the fish, coral and other sea creatures we encounter on this fun and informative snorkeling tour. You will be in the water for an hour and all of the gear is provided, including: snorkel, mask, fins, 50 SPF rash guard, wet suit and flotation device. There is also an opportunity to view and purchase photos of the day's tour.
At Reef Guides we believe it is our kuleana, or responsibility, to not only share the beauty and magnificence of Kauai's coral reef environment with you when we take you snorkeling, but also to educate you about the wonders of the reef environment and the incredible diversity of life that abounds there! We don't want to just show you the reef--we want you to experience it in such a way that you will want to learn more about this magical ecosystem and recognize the importance of protecting it for future generations.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
- If you plan to use sunscreen, make sure it is truly "reef safe." Check the ingredients...do your research...a lot of common brands call their products "reef safe" when they are actually not. Avoid all of the benzones, salates and the oxylates...look for titanium dioxide or zinc oxide...our reefs need all the help they can get!
- 2 person minimum, 6 person maximum
- Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to your tour date
