Wailua River is the most popular kayaking destination on Kauai, and it's easy to see why. The word "Wailua" means two waters and the river is made of two streams which branch apart as you kayak up. Take the right fork to get to secret falls. You'll find a rocky beach (big smooth rocks) where you can leave your kayak as you continue on foot - you're in for a decent hike, and shoes are recommended! Kayaking back can be tougher (even though it's downstream) if the winds kick up. If you find yourself kayaking back in strong winds stay close to the shore where the force of the wind is lesser.
Details:
- State and county rules prevent drop off of the kayak rental at the water's edge. We will meet you one block over and attach the kayaks/boards to your car for the short trip to the water.
- Kayaks are configured for one or two people - max weight capacity 350-400lbs.
- Lifejackets and float belts are provided.
